As stated above John was the first person to create a hardtop form a convertible diecast car. Below is a picture of his own personal custom replicas logo car, 1970 Dodge Super Bee.

This was originally a 70 Coronet R/T convertible, and he added entire roof, proper Super Bee 1/4 panel vents, removed the molded in metal twin hood scoops. This has the proper stock pitchfork hood scoop he created from scratch and rear taillights. This car is based on a stock 70 Super Bee, 383, 3 spd (standard), bench seat, dog dish wheels and white walls, Black "C" stripe, just as you would see it if you went into the showroom to buy one new.
Below is an example of creating a convertible from a hardtop. This car was his Mustang fastback. He removed the roof, created the filler panel between the seats and the trunk and cut in the trunk seams. Lastly he created a convertible boot to match. He has since created an Eleanor convertible with a working trunk and is currently creating a 68 GT 500 convertible.
